Check out this great video – San Juan County is one of those places in New Mexico where unemployment has hit double digits. Part of the problem is the struggling oil and gas industry which plays a major role in the region’s economy. The unemployment rate in San Juan County jumped to 10.1 percent in December, the highest recorded since 1997. One of the reasons: oil production is down. Of the 40 drilling rigs in the Four Corners area, just 13 are in use. What are your comments?
